Song of the Year
The Song of the Year (SOTY) award is an annual honor presented at the Warz Music Awards to recognize the most impactful and commercially successful song of the year. The award is primarily based on chart performance and follows a structured nomination and voting process. Song of the Year is categorized as part of the Main category.
Eligibility and Qualifications
To qualify for Song of the Year, a song must meet strict requirements to ensure that only highly successful and significant songs are nominated.
- The song must have been released between January 1 and November 1 of the award year.
- The song must have accumulated at least 100 plays and achieved a minimum of 2× Platinum certification (▲).
- A song must meet one of the following longevity criteria:
- Charted in the Top 10 for at least four consecutive weeks.
- Spent a minimum of eight weeks on the chart overall.
- Songs that are not included in the official Spotify Wrapped playlist cannot be nominated.
- An artist can only have one song nominated for Song of the Year per year. If multiple songs qualify, only the highest-performing song will be considered.
- Remixes and live performances are not eligible. Only the original studio version of a song can be considered.
Nomination Process
Once a song meets the qualification criteria, it becomes eligible for nomination. The selection follows these rules:
- A maximum of five songs can be nominated for Song of the Year.
- Nominations are determined by a combination of chart statistics and fan input, ensuring that only the most successful and culturally significant songs are included.

Tie-Breaking Procedures
In the event of a tie, a systematic tie-breaking process is used:
- The song with the most weeks at #1 is awarded 2 additional points.
- If a tie still exists, the song with the highest total plays is awarded 2 additional points.
