Album of the Year
The Album of the Year (AOTY) award is one of the Big 3 Awards at the Warz Music Awards, alongside Song of the Year and Artist of the Year. It is presented annually to the best album released within the award year, considering both statistical performance and personal preference.
Eligibility and Qualifications
To qualify for Album of the Year (AOTY), an album must meet the following criteria:
- Release Date: The album must be released between January 1 and November 1 of the award year.
- Chart Performance: The album must have at least 250 plays and be certified Platinum or higher (▲).
- Longevity: The album must have:
- Charted in the Top 10 for at least 4 consecutive weeks, or
- Spent a minimum of 8 weeks on the chart overall.
- One Album per Artist: An artist cannot have multiple albums nominated in the AOTY category.
Selection Process
At the 1st Annual Warz Music Awards, the winner was chosen based on King Warz's preference. In future awards shows, the selection process combines both statistics and personal preference to determine the winner.
